Mystery of Provenance

This is an alternate fantasy story set on planet Earth. - The planet is inhabited by two races: humans and simics. They arrived here from the planet Phaeton, which was destroyed by cataclysms. Humans have been coexisting with simics for almost half a millennium already. Simics are minimally distinguishable from the human race, but their main problem is that their race is dying out, as the birth of male children is practically non-existent. Having moved to the city of "Dark Dreams," the protagonist begins his new life.
